5. Health Information
Myotherapy and manual therapy involve collecting information about your body, symptoms, injuries and treatment. Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) that is sensitive information, and it is handled to a higher standard than ordinary contact details:
- We collect it only with your consent, and only where it is reasonably necessary to assess or treat you.
- Clinical notes, treatment history and appointment records are kept in Cliniko, our practice management system, not in this website.
- We do not disclose health information for marketing, and we never pass it to our analytics or advertising providers.
- Health records are retained for the period Australian law requires of a health service provider — generally seven years from your last visit, and for a patient who was a minor, until they turn 25.
